Tuesday, June 7, 2011 - Well - I had high hopes about this one based on the notes, but in the end this as typical $10 aussie shiraz as there is out there and not a particularly good one. I let it breathe for 4 hours or so in the bottle while the stew was cooked. Nice, expressive nose, but that was about everything I liked. Jammy, lots of heat on the palate. A little bit of cough syrup taste. Completely overwhelmed the beef stew. Not my cup of tea. Better for cooking.
