Friday, July 10, 2009 - Double decanted the night before. Much bigger wine when first opened, mellowed nicely 24 hours later. Green pepper, cedar, melon and cement dust on nose. It was a little syrupy when first opened, but the next day that had turned into nice fruit flavors of raspberry, cherry and blackberry. A little raisin on the finish, but not candied. Tannins were still big, drying and a tad bitter, which helped to balance the fruit. Really long finish of cherry and melon (after the raisin fades). This is a perfect steak wine and and easy drinker.
