Friday, October 12, 2012 - Decanted about 2 hours. Just a touch of sediment. Medium color with a some amber tapering to a just slightly dusty edge. Glorious deep and complex nose with smoky Asian spices, dark dusty fruit and an earthy iron element. Rich and sweet on entry with good viscosity, the bright and vibrant flavors include black plum, cherry compote and a range of sweet and savory herbs and spices. Very long on the finish, this is "spot on" now and still quite solid. An American classic Pinot Noir and a stand-out even for Mount Eden. Drink now through 2016.
