Tuesday, April 19, 2022 - I brought this out of the cellar to have on our trip to its home. The cork was in exceptional condition, no staining except for the bottom and came out cleanly. The wine has resolved its tannins but is still a red colour to the rim and is looking very youthful. It was somewhat similar to the 2010 Obsidian we had the night before in that it is showing bold black fruit characters (Not totally surprising seeing the two vineyards are almost neighbors). The Larose was however showing some increased complexity and looks to have more potential upside. 94 today but once it moves into its secondary phase I expect it will gain 2-3 more points.
