Thursday, May 15, 2014 - Bordeaux Offline (Rincon 38, Mpls, MN): Dark red color with 1-2 mm bricked meniscus. Decanted for 30 minutes, drank 2 2.5 oz pours over 2.5 hours. This was delightful, great nose with an ethereal perfume that literally blows up over an hour in glass, lavender, funk, damp earth, leather, pencil lead, cassis, raspberry, cinnamon, a touch savory. The fruit on both the nose and palate really emerges after the first hour in glass. The palate is feminine and medium bodied, smooth integrated tannins that have a ways to go, leather, mushroom, earth, spice, dried currant, dried berry, a touch of anise, mineral, and a medium plus to long finish. Very elegant, very impressive. This is in a perfect place right now. A 60-90 minute decant will nail it. This is good for 10 years plus easily. Tied for my WOTN.
