Thursday, March 5, 2015 - A tad too hot for my taste. There are hints of creme brulee and lemon meringue here, but there is an over-riding sense of heat/alcohol that is not covered with the flavors of the wine. It is a little like California chardonnay alcohol with hints of white burgundy flavors. Structurally it is a sound wine, no premox, good length to the flavors, and it is holding together nicely, but it is just not close to the level of the 2001 and 2002 Ramonet wines I have had lately. I guess this is par for the course with 2003 burgundy.
