Saturday, November 19, 2022 - Well here’s a bit of a mystery. MFW has the regular BJS Auslese as 09 and the GKA as 10, but this is 12 and had a gold capsule. Did they make multiple GKAs in 2003? Because it’s like someone secretly rinsed my glass with green Chartreuse before pouring - it’s pale yellow and smells strongly of thyme and mint and a thousand other slightly bitter green herbs. Under all that is a honeyed softness that speaks of the vintage. There’s some graceful yellow apple fruit and a barley sugar note underneath all that, but it’s wild and sauvage but delicious.
