Friday, March 26, 2010 - Popped & poured. Lots of funk on the nose. Barnyard, cassis, and blackberries backed up by hints of vanilla from the oak and cranberries. Definitely smells richer than it tastes. Very thin bodied on all parts of the palate and finish. Sour cherries and hints of anise but otherwise the palate is dead. Acidity would be better if it didn't come with the off-balance sour cherries. Tannins light but noticeable.

Style & Quality: C. Below average Bordeaux. Palate doesn't suggest that there is anything to wait for here. Even 6 years might have been too long for this wine.

Value: D. At $29 / pop this wine certainly does not deliver. A grand vin with 6 years on it, This is as good as its going to get but don't pay over $12.

Overall: C-
