Seems kinda mid weight on the palette. Lactones, age, and nice nose, which blows off with time in the glass. Just opened and 1st night open. *3rd night a lot more nice every which way. Rescored.

Took a couple of hours to come around even after pouring through aerator. Nose and palate of dark fruit and dried meat (almost beef jerky like). Moderate finish but not an overly complex one.

Opened 3h before tasting. Deep colour, quite a rich nose as it warmed but 'meaty' rather than fruity. Some fruit on the palate but rich, deep, meaty flavours - not the usual Bordeaux fruit. It improved with a rare sirloin steak and was a good partner to soft blue cheese later. After 4-5 hours there was some fragrance and deep plummy and damson fruit with integrated tannins and a slightly spicy finish. Not what I expected, though. A 'curate's egg' - good in parts but it didn't form a satisfying whole for me. The richness perhaps implies that it needs more time but I'm not convinced there is enough fruit to sustain it.

Quite a nice surprise. Purchased for $25 in 2018 at B21 in Tarpon Springs, FL. Lovely and open, showing a traditional profile. In the very earliest stages of maturity The Merlot showing more than the Cabernet (supposedly 50/50). I'd probably blind this as a St Emilion. It pours inky dark with little bricking. The nose wafts notes of plum, blackberry, charcoal, cigar, toast, and old wood. The palate has lovely acid and velvety, plum tinged sweet tannin. 12.5% alcohol declared on the label, which I believe as none stands out. The finish lingers nicely.

Dark Red color, earthy pungent nose with dark fruit, medium plus body with a flush of concentrated jammy fruit then a short finish. Still holding up structurally but seems to be waning. Time to drink!

There will be some who find this a touch dilute, others who enjoy the relaxed open-knit style. The flavours are very enjoyable, if you like aged claret, more advanced than many 2004 - but this is a plus not a minus.
Tobacco, silky warmth. Enjoy now.

Unmistakably Bordeaux on the nose and palate. Nicely developed wine with some life left in it. Still shows some good fruit but the secondary flavors and aromas are starting to show. Very enjoyable with a dry aged fillet. Would buy again.

Nice tertiary aromas of leather, smoke, a slight medicinal component, dark fruits, bramble. At first, The fruit is still quite vibrant on this and quite punchy but that rapidly gives way. Medium bodied. In truth a little unbalanced but is drinking really well right now and for the price gives a nice window into developed Bordeaux aromatics. I noticed it improved for around 2 hours after being opened but then fell off after that. Drinking well but drink up.

Well into its second life, this bottle was fully mature and dead smack in the center of phase 2 maturity. Boasting cedar, blackberries, and lots of cocoa dust and scorched earth. Representing Pessace region very well, the wine is so much fun, so mature, so bordeaux, and a great introduction to bordeaux for a crowd at these prices. If it had length, it would have got 2 more points. DRNK

In much better shape than the previous couple of bottles, which were pretty much dead. This bottle still showed some fruit but is definitely on the downslope and is well past peak. Still, delivered a very good aged Bordeaux experience.

Good Bordeaux. Not strongly rich or flavorful, but not dried out. No signs of fading. No need to rush. Did not decant, although I let it breathe for about 30 min.

Popped & poured - as decanter was working on a fine old Rioja Reserva. Great nose, typical Bordeaux as mentioned by others earlier - fine earthy, forest tones, bit of cigar box, very inviting indeed. Not much fruit left on palate, dominated by acidity - but which was not unpleasant as it created a kind of 'freshness' (as also mentioned by others). Faintest hint of tannins still. Medium finish. This is in a good place now - probably its best place. It is definitely on the decline but quite enjoyable now. Like most PL, it has this intriguing balance between right bank/left bank, although this is (as a PL should be) slightly more on the left side. Drink now through 2018. Bought this at Costco (I almost never buy wine from them though!) - very good QPR.

Even more advanced and on its way down than the previous bottle. This is pretty much dried out with just a hint of fruit left and a whole lot of aggressive oak tannin. Still some enjoyment, but I'm hoping my remaining bottles show better than this one.

Delivered a very good mature Bordeaux experience. This lacked a bit of depth, and had a fair amount of oak-borne flavors, but the oak has integrated and was not too overt (this was probably very oaky in its youth). Well balanced, with good acidic lift that keeps this fresh. This bottle is on its way down, but I have a few more bottles so I'll get a better read on this wine's evolution. A really good buy for $20 at WineEx.

Well developed on the palate, with lively black cherry & currant fruit, coffee bean, anise, dried flowers & herbs, tar, and mesquite smoke. Popped & poured. Lots of funk on the nose. Barnyard, cassis, and blackberries backed up by hints of vanilla from the oak and cranberries. Definitely smells richer than it tastes. Very thin bodied on all parts of the palate and finish. Sour cherries and hints of anise but otherwise the palate is dead. Acidity would be better if it didn't come with the off-balance sour cherries. Tannins light but noticeable.
Style & Quality: C. Below average Bordeaux. Palate doesn't suggest that there is anything to wait for here. Even 6 years might have been too long for this wine.
Value: D. At $29 / pop this wine certainly does not deliver. A grand vin with 6 years on it, This is as good as its going to get but don't pay over $12.
