Thursday, December 25, 2014 - Decanted and poured, this wine show little development with a somewhat stern personality over the course of its consumption. This bottle contrasted with the recently tasted and more generous 2011 Raveneau "Vaillons". This bottle shows similar components and characteristics to a bottle tasted on release; however, on this occasion the wine is more reserved and lean. At this stage the wine gives detailed aromatics and an austere palate that gives a medium length finish and racy, crisp acidity. Based on this showing, the wine will benefit from a at least a couple years of additional bottle age.
