Tuesday, October 24, 2023 - Pours a medium tawny-garnet. Med + intensity on the nose, loads of dried red and black fruits: cherry, strawberry, raspberry, cramberries, fig, baking spices, smoke, sous bois, spent coffee grounds, mushroom, some farmyard. The wine flavor matches the nose. Fully developed, dry wine, med acid, med + tannin/earthy, fruit is fading, med alcohol (12.5%), med + body, med+ flavor intensity, long finish. I was quite surprised with how much tannin this was showing for a 36yr old pinot. This must have been a monster back in the day, however, the fruit is really falling off and is thinning out on the mid-palate. Still, quite drinkable- so drink now, not suitable for further aging, V. Good.
