Saturday, February 18, 2012 - Dark purple. Nose and initial taste very primary: cracked black pepper. Distinctive and interesting. Secondarily there are Gamay like red fruits and dust. Medium/light finish. Nice pairing with beef. Not an elegant wine but a unique and honest one. Bottle two; serious meat like elements along with the pepper. Very reminiscent of Syrah/Cote Rotie. Tastes like roasted, bbqued beef. Still very primary, basic, and interesting.
