Friday, May 2, 2014 - On opening, the nose has blackberry bramble with a hint of pencil lead. The lead fades and leads to a dark fruit jam with hints of anise and dried cherry. On the palate, this explodes with dark cherry, a bit of cedar and vanilla. Tannins are a bit dry, but this was a pop and pour. Is this a classic Pinot? No way! But what a lovely, spicey concoction. A great pairing with Asian food, I would think. But don't go here if you are looking for a Burgundian style.
