Friday, November 17, 2006 - Best of the night, but to be fair, the score might be inflated by a point or two because of the total crap (that shall remain nameless due to excessive price) that preceded this one. After pulling the cork, we were immediately treated to a nose of pepper and gunpowder. After 30 minutes, the nose opens considerably, with the addition of a gamey, though elegant fruit. On the palate, decent fruit that is slightly overpowered by the tannins, that while well behaved should integrate better after a couple of years.
Given what this bottle costs right now, I probably won't reload, but will save the other one 'til 2009 or so.
