Tuesday, May 1, 2018 - As anticipated, this wine is clearly over the hill, so out of fairness, I will not rate this wine. If this were a young wine it would be flawed, but the 2000 is very tired at 18 years. That said some CA Chardonnays - typically those that do not go through ML, can last for up to two decades.
Cork was not cooperative. Color of old amber sherry and flavors of sherry, pineapple, peach, wood, and raisin. Tried drinking it for about a hour; it was interesting, but why go through this exercise. Sort of like a Jura meets Loire demi-sec. Only keep a bottle if you plan on doing a vertical tasting.
