90 Points

Tuesday, August 24, 2021 - Unlike with the most recent previous bottle, I was able to let this one breathe for about two hours before tasting it. Even after two hours, the nose screamed "sheep barn", but that gradually blew off after another thirty minutes or so. On the palate, it was chocolate covered cherries, which I consider to be a good thing. Fairly rich and a pretty good finish. Seemed a little tired, which ordinarily would suggest that it's past its peak. With this wine, however, it may be in one of its valleys and approaching another peak. If I had any more (which I don't), I'd be tempted to hold off for another couple years - just to see what happens.
