85 Points

Saturday, October 20, 2012 - A powerful wine but the imbalance between tannins, dryness, and fruit made this less than I expected as I usually enjoy Wild Hog wines. Though aerated and then decanted about 30 minutes, the tannins hid all but a plum flavor backed by a hint of cherry. Surprisingly, this didn't improve with more time in the decanter. I'm generally not a fan of Barbera (bought this as part of a sampler case), so maybe the problem is with me not the wine.
