  • This wine was awful, bad bottle or just bad? Producer was recommended by a reliable wine guy so I gave it a shot, and I really wanted to appreciate something about it. Appearance was a little milky, tannins and funk where just too much, with very little fruit coming through at all. Had the structure of a jellyfish. The most unenjoyable wine I've had to date. Cheers.

  • A powerful wine but the imbalance between tannins, dryness, and fruit made this less than I expected as I usually enjoy Wild Hog wines. Though aerated and then decanted about 30 minutes, the tannins hid all but a plum flavor backed by a hint of cherry. Surprisingly, this didn't improve with more time in the decanter. I'm generally not a fan of Barbera (bought this as part of a sampler case), so maybe the problem is with me not the wine.
