Monday, March 24, 2014 - Boy, is this young. Smoke, cassis, plum, blackberry, strawberry, coconut, herbs, cedar, chocolate, a little bell pepper, a hint of eucalyptus, and earth on the nose. Plum, blueberry, cassis, cherry, coffee, spice, earth, powdered sugar, and oak on the palate. Good acidity, well integrated tannin, long finish. Flirts with alcohol. Overall, this is quite good in that big, oaky new world sort of way. If you are oak sensitive, well, you know better than to drink Quilceda Creek. The alcohol does concern me though.
