Friday, April 27, 2012 - Popped and poured. In the glass, rich purple hues. Drank over the course of several hours. Did not change much in the glass over time. Nose: Violets and lavender, very floral with a dash of herbs de Provence. Palate: medium-weight and structured but well balanced. Lots of red fruit - raspberry and strawberry dominate without being overly jammy. Subtle tannins balance the wine and prevent it from becoming a fruit bomb. A very young wine that drinks well and is probably not meant for long term cellaring. Good QPR. A nice crowd pleaser that would appeal to many palates and straddles old / new world styles. 88 pts.
