Garagiste selection Color: deep ruby Nose: medium intensity; very herbal with dark berries and fruit Body/flavor: medium body; complex dried fruits and herbs Aftertaste: attractive lingering finish
Still has time. A blend of five grapes: Giro, Monastrell, Tintorerra, Bobal and Bonicaire

We all enjoyed this wine. The nose was reminiscent of an aged southern Rhone wine. It was medium bodied and medium acidity. Very peppery on the palate. The finish was spicy and interesting. Very good wine for the money.

Tonight this started off seeming like a perfectly serviceable 15-20-buck Cotes du Rhone -- but its specificity and otherness begin to emerge a half hour or so in. And after an hour or so this is really nice. Cherries/candied raspberries and toast.

I had this after dinner on 8/23/14. It had a rich, ripe bouquet of smoke, beef blood, black cherry, burnt toast, mocha and spice aromas. The palate was rich, ripe, dry and structured with flavors of burnt toast, black cherry, char and spice.

Ok, not as bad as my first review - I was probably expecting too much based on the horse manure in the garagiste write-up. It has some acceptable fruit and makes a decent inoffensive food wine.

I was pleasantly surprised with this wine, I enjoyed it with a Paella that I intended to have with an Albariño but Memorial Day weekend brought a cold front that made me look for red. The wine has pleasant cherry notes and the right acidity to pair with any food. It matched the Paella perhaps even better than the Albariño as I added smoked paprika, chicken and chorizo in addition to the seafood.

I loved this wine, but then I primarily enjoy wines with food, and as others have noted that's where this wine shines. Cherries, raspberries, earthiness, acidity, just sheer drinking pleasure. My only regret is I didn't buy more of it!!!

Beautiful transparent ruby. 65% Monastrell, 20% Garnacha, 8% Bobal and 7% Bonicaire. The Monastrell in this is pretty light on its feet to most Monastrell (Mourvedre) that I have had. Smells principally of red fruits. As others have said this wine is a good mid-week quaffer. Pretty tasty, not that complex. Best with food. I would drink this over tne next 3 years.

I had this with a cheese plate on 2/2/13. It had a reserved, subtle bouquet of black cherry, raspberry and coffee aromas. The palate was moderately tannic, fresh and dry with nice acidity…flavors of coffee, black cherry and raspberry. It was straight forward and a little simple.

(B+) A nice little wine. Somehow way more tannic than expected, which complements the cool dark fruits. A classic food wine - slightly uninspiring to sip alone, but paired with some seared duck and a curried casoulet it really shines.

Medium weight. I really enjoyed the purity of the fruit here. Very fresh. No makeup. Very juicy predominantly red fruit, with mild and fine tannins. Interesting and fun flavors from the unique grape blend. A joy to drink with food.

This is a classic example of why I no longer buy from Garagiste. It's not bad, but there's simply nothing of interest. I had one glass and left the rest for my father, who normally drinks Franzia white zinfandel.
Second bottle better than first, just not much structure, complexity or length here, not much more than a midweek dinner drinker, second bottle was better balanced and seemed not as overly fruity as first bottle, still, I'll be trying to finish these at neighborhood BBQs over the summer...

Popped and poured. In the glass, rich purple hues. Drank over the course of several hours. Did not change much in the glass over time. Nose: Violets and lavender, very floral with a dash of herbs de Provence. Palate: medium-weight and structured but well balanced. Lots of red fruit - raspberry and strawberry dominate without being overly jammy. Subtle tannins balance the wine and prevent it from becoming a fruit bomb. A very young wine that drinks well and is probably not meant for long term cellaring. Good QPR. A nice crowd pleaser that would appeal to many palates and straddles old / new world styles. 88 pts.

Dark reddish purple. Very pleasant dry, dusty first impression. Nice bitter/sweet complexity in the mid palate. Balanced tannins, medium finish. Good wine.

These have really improved with age. This last bottle had great balance, ample fruit while staying dry, a littly dirty anise on the finish.

Cough syrup.
Bleh.
Didn't dare put it in the vinegar jar.
Poured down drain.
