Tuesday, July 25, 2017 - Popped and poured just because we needed a little more red wine. Very tight petrochemical cork. A medium+ garnet in the glass with color out to the edges. Ripe dark cherry and dark plum with forest floor, underbrush and alcohol. Very good+ intensity and concentration, with leather, medium dark chocolate, and some minerality joining the fray. Our last bottle, and I'd say this is just past peak, but still enjoyable for what it is. Lots of sediment. Glad to have newer vintages of this solid wine.
