Friday, April 19, 2013 - Wind Gap Tasting with Scott Schultz (Forestville, CA): Inky black in appearance - very different from other wines it the line up. Nose explodes. Full throttle with smoky, herby, toasty, meaty, rich black fruit. Palate is rich and more fruit driven than the Wind Gap syrah. Loads of black fruit, olive, pepper and smoked meat. Long smoky finish. While larger scaled than the other more elegant wines, this is by no means a fruit monster. Well balanced and complex.
