Saturday, February 4, 2012 - A Few '95 and '96 Burgs: Decanted 2 hours. There was one firm chunk of sediment. The color is fresh and medium dark with a clear rim. Primary aromas are bright and sweet spiced with complex red berries, sandalwood and a touch of earth. The flavors are tight and firm without being too dry and are in the red spectrum featuring cherry, cranberry and a touch of sweet spice. The texture, while firm, is also slightly viscous. The tannins are all but absorbed and the finish is long and refreshing. Nice enough now with food but better in a few more years. 2015-2020.
