Tuesday, January 1, 2019 - celebrating new year's eve at ellen's house. shared with pat, louis, ellen, mario and aurora. the last of many bottles purchased over the years. this bottle was purchased in 2012. still youthful but not as robust as in the past. no oxidation or change in color. fruit. mostly white peach, is receding. modest bubbles. unfortunately, this bottle had been stored upright for some period of time. although the cork was intact and still had ample pressure behind it upon extraction, it is possible that there was some contraction in the past. the wine was enjoyable but not at its best. having survived past traumas, the wine is a good example of the quality coming from the area of franciacorta.
