Sunday, December 25, 2022 - Deep red, plush. On the fruit still, limited tertiary development. A cool and refined nose of pure red and black berries, really nice, deep and luscious. Smooth blackcurrant and tart cherry, a good sweetness backed up by a more sour mid-palate, almost nebbiolo-like. Some smoky bacon and meat, but I kept coming back to the purity of the syrah fruit. Lovely stuff. Decanted, from a magnum, this has years ahead of still in my view, especially in the larger format. Fortunately this is the first of a case.
