Saturday, August 6, 2022 - Wow, what an incredibly vibrant PN with a fairly unique profile! Super effusive, high-toned bouquet; there's quite a bit of snappy, wild red raspberry fruit and floral tones, but what really stood out to me were a number of complex mineral and spice tones. Petrichor, freshly roasted coffee grounds, almost "literally" spicy with notes of something like garam masala along with cinnamon. A kick of incense too. Maybe the nose lacks a little bit of "bass", it's all soprano, but certainly doesn't hold back in the sheer exuberant expression department.

Palate is crystalline and vibrant- again pretty much all about elegance, maybe lacking a little..."depth" for the high price, but it's beyond delicious. Sappy raspberry and red cherry, incredibly dialed-in acidity that feels super refreshing without ever feeling "tart" or out-of-place, thanks to the really pure fruit. Quite a bit of that unusual savory spice on the palate too. Very minerally on the finish.

I can't comment much on the QPR here- not only because this was shared by a super generous friend, but also because I have VERY little experience with wines above, say, $150 (already a huge splurge for me), and this goes for around double that. I didn't feel moved to rush out and get a bottle of my own, but I was totally pulled in by this, and every sip was an intriguing new direction, changing often in the glass. I'll rate it 94, a very high score on my scale, just don't pay attention to my number so much as my notes. Maybe a little steep in price for the quality alone, but I loved the unique vibe here, and I can't think of many PN's that remind me of this.
