Sunday, March 18, 2012 - This is my first taste of Grand Cru chambertin and I was not disappointed. Beautiful dark brooding colour. Dark fruits along with some tertiary aromas on the nose (humus, etc.). Palate in line with the nose, but what most impressed me was the balance, the suave tanins, and the long finish. 2004 was a difficult year in Burgundy, but this wine is faultless. Got hold of at 38 euros - bargain!
