Wednesday, November 26, 2014 - Double decanted. Drank alongside a 2010 Niero Cote Rotie. The nose was a bit muted in comparison (though still nice notes of violets and meat), so perhaps this is starting to go through a closed phase. The palate is a different story with great acidity. The tannin on the finish was very soft and clean. Elegant wine, but less expressive than the Niero. After a few hours open, this seemed distinctly earthier, darker and deeper. I probably won't touch another bottle of this for a while.
