Monday, December 24, 2007 - The oversized heavyweight of the bottle leads you to believe this will be a massive heavyweight style of cabernet and you would be (mostly) correct. The large clots of sediment are surprising in a 3 year old infant. The wine is full bodied but surprisingly complex with an impression of blackcurrent, graphite, licorice and even charcoal. There are moderate tannins on the finish to be resolved and this wine could improve for a few years at least. Very well made as are all David Ramey's wines and enjoyable but not spectacular.
