Friday, December 31, 2010 - A: Straw color with a fine mousse
N: Soft summer pudding and victoria sponge. Its like comfort eating via the nostrils. JTH got green banana, marzipan, woody coffee cream, brioche and pecan shells. I have summer fruit, gentle vanilla and light honey.
P: This is bizarre. Its like the 'DRINK ME' potion in Alice in Wonderland. Chocolate coated hazelnut, apple, summer fruit pudding. Acidity is integrated, not piercing but there. Lots of red fruit. JTH has cranberry and Xmas cake. The body seems quite light but the flavor is concentrated and dense. Complex and lovely. When the wine warms a little the caramel and pecan comes out a little more according to JTH. Alcohol 12.5%

C: No dosage or MLF but gorgeous. The balance of fruit and acidity is great. The alcohol is integrated, the finish long, the intensity is great and complexity very apparent. Outstanding quality here. Has the 7 original champagne grapes. The usual suspects and arcane, petit messlier, pinot blanc (or pinot grease as JTH likes to call it- haha!).

Was about $60 from The Sampler in London, UK
