88 Points

Sunday, January 27, 2013 - Very oak-forward: Not particularly unique at this point. Opened several hours prior to dinner. Without air, this is especially derivative, with a hint of eucalyptus but mostly oak, its contributing spice, some blueberry, currant, black cherry, a bit of vanilla, and rustic leather.. Nice concentration in color, fading to ruby around the rim. Good amount of acid emerging.. earthier as time went on, but a very prickly wood character dominates overall.. a bit of a disappointment but good with steak and potatoes. Literally, that was dinner. :-)
