Sunday, April 18, 2021 - A rare family gathering during Covid to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We pushed the cellar time on this one given that it was a magnum, and because these bottles are so beautiful when full that you want to savour them as long as you can. This wine was a big hit. Lush notes of stewed berries and mulling spices with some chocolate and tobacco, then more raspberry and white pepper on the palate. Light-medium acid with medium finish. Well balanced with good body and went down quickly. The tannins have softened and it was clearly time to drink up - I am sure the larger format saved us.
