Thursday, October 4, 2018 - Tasted at Villa Sparina in Piedmont / Gavi. P&P. Super intesne nose full of tar, ripe red fruit and a floral overlay with the latter best described with the signature roses or rose water. Thanks to the 10 years of bottle age the tar is already leaning towards a bret-type character. Balanced on the palate with soft tannins, medium intensity and a finish that I would have expected a bit longer. The nose is stunning and would deserve a 95-96 score, but the texture is a bit too thin for 95+ and 93 is probably a fair relfection of the overall experience.
