Saturday, April 15, 2023 - Day 3 I think. Day 1 this was a bit iffy - some funk and seemed a bit dumb. But this opened with another day or two. Now it’s lovely. Probably better yesterday but still very good Beautiful classic WS nose of peaches, red apples, baking spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, honey and a bit of minerals, a touch of apricot and apricot pits. Baklava. Palate enters a bit soft with honey but it spreads and grips in many ways and directions - apple and peach and tons of cinnamon and spice flavors come out, it gets less soft but it doesn’t become zingy and there isn’t a big acid feel - it’s creamy with some flesh but there is a backbone buzzing behind the flesh. A near citric steak comes out in the end palate towards the finish along with some minerality and spice. Grippy and spicy on the finish - bold cinnamon along with the apple peach and citrus. Some salty minerals. A bit ponderous but tons of good stuff with some lovely aspects. Nose - 5-5.5/6, Palate - 5-5.5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 16-17/20.
