Friday, December 31, 2010 - Open about an hour before drinking, but no decant. This is much better than the bottle a year ago - rich red color. On the nose, chocolate, dark cherries and oak. Palate follows with dark cherries and chocolate on the attack, with oak and tannins hitting the midpalate, and all the flavors and textures coming together on the medium finish. This is pretty oaky, but it works well with this wine. While I don't think it's worth the price, an excellent wine. Still some time left, but no reason to wait. 5+13+17+7.
