95 Points

Saturday, February 25, 2017 - A great example of how drinking aged wines trumps drinking them young. This 8 year old wine not only has the bright fruit of the young ones, but also pours straight out of the opened bottle delicious, seamless, caressing, and concentrated, with rounded acidity and tannin. Very dark red in color, just short of black, but rich, deep, and intensely flavored, with vivid fruit, refreshing acidity, and structuring tannin. Overall, a magnificent expression of how the Clos Pepe Vineyard makes dark, powerful, and utterly tasty Pinot Noir.
