In a fantastic spot, showing no signs of untoward age. Not sure this will improve, but it doesn't really need to. Dark-ish fruit, earthy, long finish, nice concentration. This might have been a bruiser in its youth but it's elegant now.

At 10 years old, incredibly and completely good. The best wish possible for a wine that started well when released - to keep on getting better every year later. Aromatically exciting, delicious in the mouth, great clarity of flavors, seamless, and rich, with a home run finish. Not the slightest sign of any deterioration. My mouth waters with anticipation every time I pop a cork of this wine.

This 2009 is one of the best bottlings made from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the Clos Pepe Vineyard in the Santa Rita Hills. Opaque black, although the outer edge shows its age of 8 with a lighter outer ring. Intensely flavorful with excellent concentration, powerful tannin, high acidity, and delicious fruits of black cherry, pomegranate, and blackberry. A rounded edge on the tannin is the first sign of a coming lusher texture.

One of the great Pinot vineyards in California. This wine is really showing well, even at this age. Shared with my cousin, Lucci, who was in town, kind of a Pinot nut as well. Drink up, but excellent right now.

Clearly better than it was 3 years ago. I agree with Purslane's 2018/2019 notes. Great flavors and a wonderful finish. Plenty of life left, I think.
