Saturday, November 5, 2016 - Tasted blind. Clear, pale straw. The nose is clean, medium (+) in intensity, with aromas of ripe pears, zesty citrus, tropical fruit and toast. The palate is dry, with crisp and intense fruit flavors consistent with the nose plus some earthiness and minerality on the finish. Medium acidity, medium (+) alcohol (13.5%) and a supple, smooth mouthfeel, probably thanks to the oak treatment and lees stirring. Drinking well now, but it should do fine for another year or so. Tasters were all over the world with this, pretty evenly split between Maconnais and coastal California appellations. Most were pleasantly surprised by the Margaret River provenance and price point.
