Thursday, May 8, 2014 - I thought this wine was relatively weak for a Brunello. While not insipid, it lacked a concentration of flavour expected from a Brunello. I felt it could have been a Rosso Di Montalcino. The winemaker describes traditional style, not extracting a jammy flavour. In Montalcino, just as the Cote d'Or, SE facing slopes are preferred. This vineyard is SSW possibly yielding a less robust flavour.
