Saturday, July 25, 2015 - Splash decant and notes after 30 minutes. Very light, hazy ruby with very slight brick at the rim. No sediment.
On the nose it leads with smoke and oak over redcurrant and roses in the background. A lot more expressive than it was a year ago but still, somewhat bashful. Dry and tart palate with plenty of acidity upon entry. The chalky minerality blasts through mid-palate and a subtle lingering of raspberry, cherry, and green herbs fade out through the finish. So much nicer than it was last year, and still playing in the AFWE division. 4+11+15+8 = 88
