Community Tasting Note

Sunday, October 1, 2017 - Rhys @ My Place--Part 3 (My House In The South OC): Listed ABV of 13.7%. I can't recall if this was aerated or not but when it arrived, I put it into the lineup, joining a # of the other Rhys 2010s that were already being tasted. This seemed like a bigger styled wine, stem influenced with olive and game. Rich red and blue tones, kind of a fruit bowl quality. Reminds me some of the 2007 Alpine Hillside, with some syrah-like quality where the gaminess/complexity is on display. I should also note, for context of my 'richness' comment here, is that I tasted and wrote my note on this 2010 Alpine right after tasting the 2015 Bearwallow, which was a broader shouldered wine. That could have influenced how I 'read' this 2010.
