Tuesday, April 18, 2017 - PnP out of cool storage. Color is dark purple fading slightly to a narrow strip of fuchsia at the edge. Aroma of darker fruit such as blueberry and blackberry, tobacco, leather and some savory herbs with very little volatile alcohol. Light legs. On the palate there is dark fruit, mouthwatering acid, soft and well-integrated tannin and a bit of heat or pepper in the finish. Drinking with dinner of salad with a vinaigrette dressing and some chicken. After dinner the wine is drinking quite nicely on its own. Second night the wine is still showing a nice balance. This wine does not feel like it is at end of life to me.
