Monday, June 4, 2012 - Very sweet, juicy aromas of honeydew melon with sugar on top. While it definitely smells sweet it isn't goopy or out of balance in aroma. Nice coating texture with mild sweetness and puckering acid. Really nice acid with just a hint of sweetness. Pretty luscious texture and palate presence that I can hold in the mouth for a minute without it getting cloying or overly acidic; great balance. Little kick of acid on the finish that turns to minerals and a slight funky lychee fruit notion. The acid throughout this wine is definitely what keeps this on the most interesting side of things. Not much in the way of complexities, but for what this is it's perfectly balanced. Very impressive stuff for this tariff. Shocking, really.
