Tuesday, April 22, 2014 - Free & Easy Tuesday night session (Extra Space): Tasted blind. Pop and poured.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, dark purple colour.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of peppery spice, flowers, and a bit of cassis.
On the palate, high acidity, medium silky tannins, full body, long finish. Flavours of blueberries, blackberries, black pepper, minty herb, and some cassis.
I guessed a Northern Rhone Syrah. Quite nice. My first time trying Mencia.
