Tuesday, November 11, 2014 - Decanted and began drinking immediately. Quite open from the start, and drinking wonderfully. Aromas and flavors of pungent, sappy dark red fruit, black pepper, anise, wet clay/earth, and a well integrated medium strength dose of green plants/herbs/tobacco. Fresh juicy acidity. Rose petals and slight bitterness develop in the finish, joining persistent mineral earth. Medium bodied. Richer and deeper than it was a couple years ago, but still seems surprisingly young and sappy. Tannins are somewhat grippy and not fully integrated, but getting there. Delicious!

After 4 hours in the decanter, the fruit has smoothed out into fresh raspberry, more floral notes and a hint of barnyard have developed, and everything is cohesive and just very pretty.
