90 Points

Wednesday, May 20, 2009 - Blind Night (Mattias): Dark ruby color. Earthy blackberry nose. Tastes of blackberry, currant, leather and earth. Teeth gripping tannins. Vanilla oak treatment. Rich, powerful finish. Quite young. Blind tasted both 1997 Plumpjack Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve's under screwcap and cork against each other. Correctly identified Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon for both but thought they were from different producers. The cork version being more evolved and complex. A very interesting comparison especially blind. Provided by Jeff.
