Monday, June 18, 2018 - This wine will fool you. I, too have often felt ripped off a bit with the pricepoint vs the result. Yes, overly extracted on opening and for the first 2 hours afterward, but low and behold another hour and it adds weight and a few layers of well integrated red/black fruit. Briary, pencil shavings on the nose. There is still some significant tannins, and spice, like smoked cracked red pepper to go along with the sage and nice acidic ending. This wine could easily be taken the wrong way but time smooths it out and makes it go a few layers deeper. I kept waiting and they finally showed up. Went great with a prime ribeye.

5/30/2020 6:51:00 PM - I've read plenty of community reviews and I will say this is one of the best ones I've ever read in terms of being informative, illustrative *and* concise! Thank you! We don't have 2+ hours of decant time before our "stay-at-home" dinner this evening but will do so for a future occasion. We will pass along any tasting notes on our end, also! Thank you Mark1NPT!
