Tuesday, January 3, 2023 - Opened, decanted, and served. Pale red. Tobacco followed by tons of citrus and then high toned secondary perfume. Totally elegant light to medium weight with an excellent soil base. All sorts of savory notes (leather and bark in addition to the tobacco leaf), delicate red fruit, spice, excellent acidity, and moderate remaining fine tannins. This is a model of Nebbiolo subtlety, laciness, and beauty without being overwhelming in any way. Drink or give it another 5 to 7 years to get to an even more ethereal tertiary stage. A terrific wine with which to start 2023!
