Wednesday, January 11, 2023 - Wanted to try one of these and it was good, but a bit early still. The nose is lovely and classic Barolo; red fruit, tobacco, leaf litter, mushroom, tar, violets, mint, and fennel. The palate is still pretty tannic and tight; though not totally ungiving with air and food. I opened this about 30 min before dinner, no decant and served with truffle pasta and herbed chicken. Worked reasonably well, but no doubt this will benefit from more cellar time. Minimum 5 more years for me.
